These lenses are made of an older material rather than the newer silicone in the Acuvue Oasys.
The difference between the two materials is that the Acuvue 2 has a high water content whilst the Oasys (newer lenses) has less water but greater breathability so more oxygen gets to your eye.
The older material will not make your eyes dry. The newer material tends to have less water so will make your eyes drier.

Avaira Vitality are Great Contacts
I've tried several different contacts and I've never been able to find ones that didn't bother my eyes constantly because of drying out. My doctor gave me a pair of the Avaira Vitality toric contact lenses in a sample pack of differnt types of contacts to try out. I love them! I can wear them 12+ hours without any issues. These by far exceed the majority of contacts on the market in comfort.

When I first put on Encore Sphere I felt like the contacts were molding to my eyes! I was afraid this would make my eyes irritated, but instead I noticed they were super comfortable the entire day through. Also, no redness at the end of the day either!
SofLens 38 are a very affordable alternative
SofLens 38 are a great and affordable lens! They fit well in my budget and lasted a long time, making them even better for the price. I had no problems with wear after two weeks of use, and my eyes didn't feel dried out either.

The unique make and material of SofLens 59 contact lenses made them a great choice for me! I tend to have problems wearing lenses daily, so I'd only do it for special occasions. However, when I switched to these I didn't have irritation and found I enjoyed wearing them all the time!

Can you wear contacts seven days a week?
The amount of time you can wear contact lenses in a single-use depends on the type of contacts you have (daily or extended wear) and if you have any vision health issues, such as dry eyes or sensitivity. It would be best if you had a schedule that allows you to take out the contacts and let your eyes rest for your eyes to receive enough oxygen. Please refer to your eye care professional for a prescription on how long you can safely wear your contacts daily. In general, contacts approved for overnight wear and where your ECP has ok'd you to do so can be worn for 6 consecutive nights and 7 days.
How long can I wear 2 week contact lenses?
Bi-weekly contact lenses are meant to be worn daily for up to two weeks until you need to replace them with a fresh pair of lenses.
What are 2 week lenses?
2-week lenses or bi-weekly lenses are contacts that you wear daily for two weeks. Acuvue Oasys, Avaira Vitality, and Biomedics 55 Premier Asphere are examples of bi-weekly lenses.
What happens if you wear 2 week contacts for a month?
You will increase the chance of infection, irritation, and inflammation as the transmission of oxygen through the lens to the eye drops to an unhealthy level.
How do I take care of 2 week contacts?
With clean hands, remove your bi-weekly contacts each night and clean them with solution. Avoid exposing your lenses to water.
